The NBOA PAC endorses the following candidates in upcoming elections:

Patrick Hynes — Challenger for Cook County Assessor
After eight years of incumbent Fritz Kaegi, challenger Patrick Hynes will bring a much-needed focus on accuracy, transparency, and predictability to the Cook County Assessor’s Office.  Hynes 20+ years of experience in the Cook County assessment system gives us confidence that he can improve the wild swings in valuation which have become common under Assessor Kaegi.  We support Hynes and his ideas to promote a fair, professional assessment to restore much needed confidence among homeowners and commercial investors alike.

Brendan Reilly — Challenger for Cook County Board President
As a long time alderman, Brendan Reilly has consistently demonstrated a commitment to fiscal discipline, accountability, and economic growth. His incumbent opponent, Toni Preckwinkle is responsible for giving both Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and former States Attorney Kim Foxx their starts in politics.  Not only does Reilly’s pragmatic approach support a healthier real-estate and business environment but it provides a rare opportunity to remove one of the power brokers who are responsible for the current anti-real estate climate in Chicago.

George Cárdenas — Incumbent, Cook County Board of Review (1st District)
George Cárdenas has shown a strong record of fairness and balance in reviewing property tax appeals. Our endorsement reflects his understanding that the Board of Review plays a critical role as a check on over-assessment, ensuring property owners—large and small—receive due process. His experience and consistency help promote confidence in the property tax system and prevent unnecessary financial strain on housing providers and tenants.

Isaiah White — Candidate for Cook County Commissioner, 12th District (open seat)
Isaiah White represents a forward-looking approach to county governance, with an emphasis on economic opportunity, housing stability, and responsible budgeting. We support White because Cook County commissioners influence policies that directly affect development costs, land use, and neighborhood investment. His perspective aligns with our ideas on real estate including promoting growth while maintaining affordability.

Paul Kendrick — Candidate for Illinois House, 12th District
Paul Kendrick understands that housing affordability and economic vitality depend on smart state-level policy. We are endorsing Kendrick for his commitment to reducing regulatory burdens, encouraging responsible development, and supporting policies that expand housing supply. His approach recognizes that excessive costs ultimately fall on renters, homeowners, and small property owners alike.

James O’Brien — Candidate for Illinois House, 13th District
James O’Brien brings a practical, solutions-oriented mindset to state government, particularly on issues affecting property taxes, housing production, and local investment. Our endorsement reflects his willingness to engage with the real-estate community and advance policies that promote predictability and long-term growth. Strong legislative leadership is essential to maintaining Illinois as a competitive and livable place to invest and reside.
